Thumbnail image featuring "Embers of Olympus" in the upper center. The letters are box letters filled with fire and smoke. Above the title is a line of clouds with a lightning bolt coming out of the left side. To the right of the title is a pair of black birds. Below the title is a white structure with six pillars and a short staircase. There are two snakes on the pillars. There is one bubble-stick character with a blue head, red torso, pink arms, and blue legs on the left edge of the structure. That person is holding a brown rectangle with rounded corners. That rectangle is a shield. On the right edge is another person, made of the same coloring, holding a small dagger towards one of the snakes. There is a large, brown bear standing behind a oval tree to the left of the structure. To the right of the structure is a second oval tree and the light grey shadows of the birds from above.

What is it?

Have you ever heard of the myth of Prometheus? Which version? There are so many iterations of that story. Welcome to the Embers of Olympus, where your only job is to help the humans survive. Earth can be a scary place to live, especially without the help of good ol' fire. Prometheus is on his way to hand that over, but the human race has to survive until then! This tower-defense game has animals coming at you from all sides, so be sure to watch your back...and your front...and your sides...

Screenshot of the game featuring a lime green background with a dotted texture to imply grass. There is a tool bar at the bottom of the screen with five tan squares. The first square on the left shows a bubble-stick character with a blue head, red torso, pink arms, and blue legs. All people on the screen feature the same coloring. The second square has a person holding a brown, wooden shovel. The third square holds a wooden fence featuring five, cylindrical posts. The fourth square shows a light brown house with a pointed brown roof. The house is made of a simple cube and pyramid stacked on top of one another. The final cube shows a red, orange, and yellow fire coming from a circle of small, grey stones. The top right corner of the screen holds two rectangles. These are part of the upgrade system. They show one upgrade option to add a dagger, offering five health, a 0.5 second attack cooldown, and a cost of 5 clay pieces. The second rectangle offers a shield, 10 health, 0 attack, and a cost of 5 clay pieces. In the top left corner of the screen is a clay icon (reddish-tan ovals) that = 5. Right below that is an icon with three people = 2. In the center of the screen is a snake and two people. One person has a blue shade in front of it, signifying that you have the upgrade screen open for it. The seconed person is holding a shovel with clay bits coming off of it to signify the digging animation. This person has a red shade in front of it to signify that the snake just attacked. The snake is thin and greena and has a small red tongue and an angry eyebrow above it's black-dot eye.

Who made it?

Embers of Olympus is one of the latest projects I have been working on by myself. It started as a solo project for a class, but I have continued developing it here and there when I can. I wanted to create a game out of the myth of Prometheus for years before I finally started working on this game, and it has been quite the learning experience trying to do everything on my own. The original demo for this hasn't been publicly released, but if you want to give it a try, send me a message on one of my socials and I'll happily send it your way. Just keep in mind that no part of this demo is final and there are sure to be many bugs!

The final square is slightly darker to signify you are holding your cursor over it. The square reads "Ends game. 20 people. 50 clay." In the top left corner of the screen is a clay icon (reddish-tan ovals) that = 60. Right below that is an icon with three people = 23. The center of the screen has three people holding daggers. There are four fences with spiked tops and one house. There is a snake coming in from the top left, a bird coming in from the top, and another snake coming in from the top right. This snake has collided with a spike fence and is shaded red. Below all of these items are two digging people holding shovels with clay bits coming off of them to signify the digging animation.
